Exchange Rate: 2008 involved thirty-eight artists living in sixteen different countries who contributed artwork in response to the 2008 U.S. presidential election. With the aid of the website exchangerate2008.com, participating artists produced, exchanged, and interpreted performance directions leading up to the election campaign. The Exchange Rate: 2008 book includes all the artwork created for the project, bios of the artists involved, an interview between Elana Mann and Claire Ruud originally published in the magazine "...might be good," and an essay by Claire Ruud.
