Shake, Rattle, Roll started in 2019 and is an ongiong project through the present. The following images are from an action that took place at the "Bans off our bodies" rally at Los Angeles City Hall, May 14, 2022, hosted by Planned Parenthood, the Women's March Foundation and MoveOn. The rally was organized to condemn U.S. laws banning trans rights and reproductive health access. The protest rattles are designed to bolster energy, voice and political power and have also been used to advocate for immigrant rights and environmental justice. Shake, Rattle, Roll also takes place in domestic settings, where rattles are used to aid in familial/interpersonal communication. Starting in 2024 the project also involves rattle making workshops in a variety of contexts and communities.

The Shake, Rattle, Roll project has expanded to other communities across the United States. Some groups have Mann's original rattles, while most communities create their own unique design, sound, and message to be used locally.
