Transforming herself into a glamorous songbird, Mann belted out "'Till there was you" from the musical "The Music Man" to a framed picture of Barack and Michelle Obama while Rory Cowal accompanied on the keyboard. The abject quality of Mann's voice mixed with the over-the-top sentimentality of the songs' lyrics and tune produced an embarrassing teen-age love-affair. The performance had the affect of a fun house mirror reflecting the adulation felt at that moment for President Obama.
